When you pick this item, all the options found under the Options menu are reset to their automatic values. The automatic values are: Conversion Options will modify carriage returns, modify spaces, remove all “gremlin” characters, change " " to “ ”, change ' ' to ‘ ’, change - - to —, and change “fi” and “fl” characters to their proper ligatures; Remove Many Spaces will do nothing; Change Case will do nothing.
Open Options
This item will present a dialog box which allows you to pick a Macify options file. These files contain a combination of options you’ve saved with the next two commands. Also note that if you double click on a Macify options file in the Finder, then Macify will automatically open that file as it starts. When a Macify options file is opened, the combination of options is set back to what it was when that file was first saved.
Save Options
This item is used to save a combination of options you have created with Macify. You may spend a considerable amount of time setting up the choices under the Options menu to do just what you have in mind. To avoid having to reset all those choices when you come back to Macify next week, you should save this combination first. Save Options will save the current combination of options to the disk as a Macify options file. If the current combination of options does not yet have a name, then Macify will automatically invoke the Save Options As command described below. Note that if the current combination already has a name, this name will appear in place of the word “Options”.
Save Options As
This item is just like Save Options above, except that it provides you with a dialog box in which you can enter a new name for the current combinations of options. Note that if the current combination already has a name, then this name will appear in place of the word “Options”.
Macify File
This item is the heart of the Macify application. It first presents you with a dialog box with which you can choose the file you want Macified. Once that has been done by clicking the Open button, it will present you with another dialog box. This box allows you to specify the destination and name of the new file Macify will create by applying the options set to the original file. When you click the Save button, Macify goes on its merry way reading from the original file and writing to the newly named file. The pointer will indicate the reading and writing taking place, when it becomes an arrow once again, then Macify is done with its job.
Quit
When selected, this item returns you to the Finder.
